I Might Look Sweet, But I Listen To Angry Music… And Love It.

Whether it’s healthy or not, who knows. It works for me. There’s something deep-seeded and primordial that lives within me. And in order to relieve that pressure, I use various forms of therapy to help.ย  One of those forms of therapy is listening to deep, throaty, guitar-heavy, angry, passionate music. It’s like I’m a pressure cooker, and filling my ears with this glorious noise releases the steam.

I always thought it was something I just enjoyed, that was very different from my fellow female friends. Forget Brittney, give me some Slipknot.

When I listen to a live concert – and it has to be live, because there is so much more passion when it’s live – it’s like a free hour of therapy. Personally, I dig a lot of the concerts from 1999, specifically Woodstock. There are a couple bands that still kick butt in this day and age, but they are few and far between.

When you’re in the mood, here are a few of my go-to’s:

Korn @ Woodstock – 1999 (warning: nudity and cuss words)

Red Hot Chili Peppers @ Slane Castle – 2003

Rage Against the Machine @ Woodstock – 1999 (warning: nudity)

Tool @ The Glass House – 1996

Slipknot @ Rock On the Range – 2015

What’s your go-to when you need to blow off steam?
Any live concerts you love that you can share?
